qualifying rules
  - Inland Revenue rules which define the conditions that must be met for the proceeds of a life assurance policy to be tax free when paid.

  - a detailed document itemising costs, fees etc. which will be incurred in taking out the specified loan.

  - Advertising Regulations - rules laid down under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and controlled by statutory instruments which the secretary of state can lay before Parliament.

The Advertising Regulations control all loan advertising and are enforced by local Trading Standards Officers.
